Frequently Asked Questions

Why Community Supported Agriculture (CSA)?

By becoming a member of our CSA you are choosing healthy, high quality, safe food for you and your family. When you joining our CSA you not only receive a weekly box of our highest quality, freshest produce, you are also directly supporting our farm, which helps us grow the best food we can. We grow over 35 different crops. Each week we walk the fields and choose the best of what’s ready to put in your box. Almost all the crops are harvested the same day or the day before you get your box. Because you’re paying up front and letting us “choose” your vegetables, we make sure you receive the best quality produce.

Is this share right for me?

A typical share feeds a family of 2-4, depending on your cooking habits. Each weeks box comes with a newsletter with crop notes and recipes. Read our past newsletters here.

Do you offer half shares or an every other week option?

We do not offer half shares. We suggest splitting the share with a friend and/or alternating pickups.

How do the 4 week harvest/half season options work?

Both the 4 week harvest and half season shares are for either 4 or 14 consecutive weeks of vegetables (respectively). You can continue your membership when your weeks are done.

Can I join for the 4 week harvest and renew my membership if I like it?

Absolutely. If you decide to continue and would like to extend for the rest of the season, we will prorate the amount at the full season rate. Or you can renew for another 4 weeks, or choose the half season (14 weeks) option.

Can I visit the farm?

Yes, we have three open houses throughout the season, and we encourage all members to come take a walk through the fields! 2011 open house dates TBA.

What if I go out of town?

If you are a Full Season or Half Season member, you can place your box on hold up to 4 times (Full Season members) or 2 times (Half Season members), and receive a credit slip (value $22) that can be used to shop at any of our farmers market stands in 2012. If you use all of your allotted vacation holds, any boxes you place on hold will be donated.

If you're a 4 week harvest member and place your box on hold, it will be donated. If you’re going out of town, we suggest arranging to have a friend pick it up (and remind them to check off your name on the checklist). It’s a good idea to check your calender before subscribing.

Joining our CSA program is the most important way you can help our farm succeed. Farming is challenging, but alliances like these that link the grower to the local community are a truly effective way to keep farming viable.
